Children and Young People

At Latin American House, we work with children and young people aged 4 to 25, mainly from Latin American and other migrant communities, supporting their academic learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing. We offer a safe, welcoming, and culturally responsive environment where they can access supplementary education while connecting with their cultural roots and grow in confidence.

Our approach is holistic and community-based. Through a variety of activities, including our well-established Spanish Saturday School, qualified academic support, youth leadership opportunities, and cultural and recreational sessions, we create meaningful opportunities for children and young people to build skills, strengthen their sense of identity, and shape their aspirations for the future.

Children

Our programme, generously funded by John Lyon’s Charity, offers an exciting and enriching range of activities
for children and young people aged 5 to 16 in our local area. Activities for children include both recreational
and educational sessions for those in Reception to Year 6.

If your child is in Year 7 or above, please visit our Young People section.
While we always work with the Latin American community in mind, activities within this
programme are open to children and young people from all backgrounds.

What parents say

“What an incredible place to be part of! Our daughter has built such beautiful relationships by being part of our vibrant Latin American community.

Arts and crafts activities have become one of her favourite after-school activities. She’s learning how to do things she has wanted to learn for a long time,
and the half-term camp was great fun.

Thank you so much, Latin American House!! ❤️💚”

— Grecia

“It’s an excellent option. My son is delighted with the camp and wakes up every day excited to go back. He has really enjoyed it!”

— Coral

“My daughter takes Spanish classes here after school and is preparing for her GCSEs. She really enjoys the course and comes home from every class with new words, ideas, and questions. Highly recommended.”

— Kleos

We are deeply grateful to John Lyon’s Charity for their transformative support over the past years. Their investment in our Children and Young People programme has enabled us to grow, benefiting many families annually, expanding our provision to include homework clubs, STEM activities, half-term programmes, academic support, vocational activities and enriching trips. This growth has created a lasting impact across our community, providing children and young people with the opportunities, confidence and skills they need to thrive.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Young Camden Foundation and Young Brent Foundation for their continued support and collaborative partnership. Working together, we are building a stronger and more connected network of support that genuinely benefits the children and young people we all serve.

As we look ahead to 2026, we look forward to continuing this work for the benefit of migrant communities. Our collective commitment makes all the difference to the families who rely on our dedicated projects for children and young people.
